10 minutes walking..noss sa3a bel autobess!..part 2

Last time we have talked about the crowd at Cairo and gave some random statistics about how much time it may take to go from one place to another inside the city, also we have talked about some reasons for this crowd from people’s and media’s point of view..If you didn’t read the post, you can find it here.

Now, let’s discuss the reasons from my point of view, and remember, it is my opinion, you may agree with or oppose them. I’m just an observer passenger (still learning A B C driving we lesa mashoftesh 7aga :)

You can find crowd everywhere because of the following:

What am called (3’aba2 sawa2een): this is easily could be found by the majority of microbuses and Taxi drivers, you can find the car stops in front of you suddenly just to take (zboon) or to get rid of him, and the most thing that made me wonder is that it may be about some few meters to reach the station and exchange the (zabayen) easily without the need to close the street behind. When I used to take those public transportations I heard people mentioning some strange places to stop at like ( el matab elly gay ma3ak, awel el sor yasta, we tab3an 3ala ay ganb !)

Also I don’t need to mention the people who are trying to get from the most left lane to the most right one and almost for the same reasons above ( el zabayen) we 3ala ra2y sawa2 microbus ( nos gneeeh tale3 we nos gneeh nazel :D

“Ana wa men ba3dy el Tofan” principle: this concept mainly point to the very bad attitudeand culture of the Egyptians, you can observe this every morning, when there is an exit, or at the startings of the bridges. The bridge usually has 2 lanes which means that ONLY two cars will pass, but if you concentrated more, you will find that there are about 4 cars are racing to be the first ( te2olsh elly haywsal el awel hayeksab! Wala haywafar 2 hours men el wa2fa fe share3 !).Really it is one of the most annoying things I could see, they make the crowd in the streets because there are tens of cars behind don’t want to use this exit or bridge( zanbohom eh dol???)

It also make me very depressed, because the person who tries to be respectable will wait until one of those people “yatakaramo we yedooh doroh! “.

The stupid silly accidents: I don’t mean here the horrible accidents we keda la sma7 allah. I mean those accidents where you find 2 or more cars stopped at the middle of the street and find all the people inside get off just to fight because of “el 7ayawan elly warah 5abato we ma7asalsh lel 3arabeya 7aga!”.Even there are losses, we can simply park at any of the road sides we ne3mel elly ne3melo ba3d keda, la2 ezaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay kol wa7ed lazem ya5od 7a2o!!

The most thing that is getting my nervous in this point, is after half an hour of fighting and making all the people behind very late, nothing is done! Just shouts, delays, and no one take his rights! Estafadna eeeeeeeh ba2a?????

When I’ve asked this question to one of my colleagues, he replied me “asl ana law ma3amaltesh keda hayeftekrni da3ef we mesh 3aref a5od 7a2y ”..No Comment :D:D

I think this principle is related somehow to the above point..

“El sewa2a el 7alazoneya” : I just want you to notice the cars that are passing by “The Military Academy” in their way to “The Airport ”, really nothing better could describe this way of driving better than “el sewa2a el 7alazoneya”. In simpler way, just keep jumping from lane to lane rapidly and crazily (also you can refer to 3’aba2 sawa2een point.

Missing the “Crisis Management”: Actually who takes “The ring road, EL mehwar , 6^th of October bridge ” frequently could get my point. Many times when the traffic is paralyzed, the reason is a horrible accident, so where are the Traffic Authorities??

Also when a car stops and needs to be fixed, where are the emergency cars that should be available all the time each few meters along the streets??

Also, when there are bad circumstances like heavy rain, fogs or hurricanes, are our streets and high ways ready for that ???

The bad designs for the streets: I think you could easily see that everywhere

“El nas el mohemeen “: simply known as “el tashrefa”, we used to face this problem daily, especially in Salah Salem street when X decides to go to the airport or back to home, this becomes something usual and we can cheat ourselves and say ”nas mohema ba2a” :D

The thing that is really offensive, when you find (X, Y, Z …and all the alphabetical letters) closed the streets to go to their ministries! Why the hell shall we wait them for hours to go to their work???? Who are they aslan!

I swear if anyone of those VIPs ( as they called themselves) uses any car like those in the streets, nobody will know them and everything will , so WHY??!!!!!!!

The last point reminded me with the Film “taba5 el rayes” , when the president asks “Metwally” his special cooker, why always he doesn’t find anyone at streets or on the bridges, Metwally has simply answered ”maho e7na elly beneb2a ta7t el kobry 7adretak ” :D

Those are simply my reasons, I don’t know how to solve this old problem in Cairo, but the difference between now and old times is the ATTITUDE, and I think actually this is the cause of the majority of problems at Egypt..
